Who is Pilates for?

Pilates is for lots of different people, ages, shapes and fitness levels. I always encourage you to work at your own pace during the workouts, work as it suits you each day.

Is there an age restriction?

The program is not designed for under 18s but there is no upper age limit.

What if I don’t want to continue?

I hope you will love being part of Appletree but if you feel it’s not right for you, don’t worry, your membership fee is paid once a month and you can cancel at anytime.

I am busy, how can I fit pilates into my life?

I have designed the classes to fit into our busy lives with the Express classes lasting around 10 minutes. Setting aside the time at a regular time and day is a great way to stay on track. If you have days with a little more time available just choose one of the longer classes.

What do I wear?

Just wear easy workout clothes that you can move in easily, for example leggings or jogging bottoms with a t shirt or sweatshirt. You don’t need shoes.

Can I do Pilates if I am injured or unwell?

Pilates is not suitable if you are injured or unwell. If you are in any doubt I would always recommend that you seek professional medical advice from your GP or doctor before beginning the programme. If your health changes once you are a member, the same applies.

What equipment do I need?

The beginner's course is designed to be as easy as possible for you to start and so there are only a few small pieces of equipment you need to begin. You will need a mat, a towel or thin head block, a thick cushion or block, and an exercise band. The towel or thin block is to support your head whilst lying on your back.

The cushion or thick block is to support your head whilst you are lying on your side. Your head support should be of the right thickness to support your head comfortably and keep your head in line with your spine. The band is to support your legs so should be a medium or strong band depending on your needs.

There is a lot more information in the terms and conditions so please make sure you look at these too.
